Export Vulnerability Data

Required User Role: Basic, Scan Operator, Standard, Scan Manager, or Administrator

To export data for a vulnerability in the new interface:

  1. In the upper-left corner, click the button.

    The left navigation plane appears.

  2. In the left navigation plane, click Vulnerabilities.

    The Vulnerabilities page appears.

    By default, this page displays the By Plugin tab. The tab contains the Time Since First Seen widgets and the plugins table. The plugins table lists plugins by decreasing severity.

  3. Click the export button in one of the following locations:

    Page Location in Page Scope of Export
    Vulnerabilities by Plugin
    By Plugin tab Next to the Filters and Search boxes.

    Exports all vulnerabilities currently visible in the plugins table.

    Any row in the plugins table. Exports the selected vulnerability or vulnerabilities.
    Action bar that appears when you select multiple vulnerabilities.

    Vulnerability Details page (Vulnerabilities tab)

    Any row in the assets table. Exports the selected vulnerability for the selected asset or assets.
    Action bar that appears when you select multiple assets.
    Vulnerability Details page (individual Asset Details view) Next to the Filters and Search boxes. Exports all vulnerabilities currently visible for the selected asset.
    Any row in the vulnerabilities table. Exports the selected vulnerability or vulnerabilities for the selected asset.
    Action bar that appears when you select multiple vulnerabilities.
    Vulnerabilities by Asset
    By Asset tab Next to the Filters and Search boxes.

    Exports all vulnerabilities currently visible in the assets table.

    Any row in the assets table. Exports vulnerabilities for the selected asset or assets.
    Action bar that appears when you select multiple assets.

    Asset Details page (Vulnerability tab)

    Next to the Search and Filter boxes for the plugins table. Exports vulnerabilities for the selected asset.
    Any row in the plugins table. Exports the selected vulnerability or vulnerabilities for the selected asset.
    Action bar that appears when you select multiple plugins.
    Asset Details page (individual Vulnerability Details view) Any row in the assets table. Exports the selected vulnerability for the selected asset or assets.
    Action bar that appears when you select multiple assets.

    Note: When you export data from a table, the export includes data for entities currently visible in the table (for example, all assets currently visible in the asset table). You can refine the results by searching the table or filtering the table based on vulnerability attributes.

    The Exports plane appears. This plane contains the list of available export formats.

  4. Click the export format you want to use:

    Format

    Description

    PDF - Current

    PDF - Executive Summary

    Adobe PDF file.

    HTML - Current

    HTML - Executive Summary

    Web-based HTML file.

    Nessus

    Nessus file. Nessus exports are the only file format that you can import into Tenable.io.

    CSV

    Comma Separated Values text file.

    Note: Tenable.io supports tag filters in the CSV export format only.

    Tenable.io begins processing the report. Depending on the size of the exported data, Tenable.io may take several minutes to process the report.

    When processing completes, Tenable.io downloads the export file to your computer. Depending on your browser settings, your browser may notify you that the download is complete.

  5. Access the export file via your browser's downloads directory.
