You can delete assets as a standard or administrative user from the Asset plane, the asset preview plane, or the Vulnerability by Asset plane.
When you delete an asset, Tenable.io deletes the asset from the default view of the assets table, deletes vulnerability data associated with the asset, and stops matching scan results to the asset.
Deleting an asset does not immediately subtract the asset from your licensed assets count. Deleted assets continue to be included in the count until they automatically age out as inactive after 90 days.
To delete an asset in the new interface:
In the upper-left corner of the Vulnerability Management Overview dashboard, click the Tenable logo.
The left navigation plane appears.
The Assets plane appears.
In the assets table, do one of the following:
In the row of the asset you want to delete, click the button.
Click the row of the asset you want to preview, then in the preview plane, click the button.
The Delete Asset dialog box appears.
In the dialog box, click Delete.
The asset is deleted.
