Impersonate a User Account

Administrators can impersonate all other user accounts, which allows you to perform operations in Tenable.io as another user without needing to obtain that user's password, or having to log out of your administrator account in order to log in as another user.

To Impersonate a User

  1. On the top navigation bar, click Settings, and then, on the left pane, click Accounts.

The Accounts page appears, displaying the users table.

  2. On the users table, click the user name of the user that you want to impersonate.

    The Edit User page appears.

  3. In the upper-right corner, click the Impersonate button.

You impersonate the user. If you impersonate an administrator or standard user, the About page appears. If you impersonate a basic user, the primary dashboard appears.

To Stop Impersonating a User (Leave User)

  • In the upper-right corner of the top navigation bar, click the name of the account you are impersonating, and then click Leave User.

The About page appears and your user name is displayed in the upper-right corner of the top navigation bar.
