Create a Scheduled Adaptive Sensing Job

You can create a scheduled scan to launch at a later time, or Launch a Manual Adaptive Sensing Job immediately.

Before you begin:

You can pre-select the assets you want to scan on the Assets page. See the Assets Page for more information.

To create a scheduled scan:

  1. On the Adaptive Sensing page, click New Job.

The New Adaptive Sensing Job page appears.

  2. In the Name box, type a name for the job.

Note: If you do not type a name, Industrial Security applies a default name for the job.

  3. In the Description box, type a description for the job.
  4. In the Sensor drop-down box, do one of the following:
    • If you want to run a job for an IT device and a Nessus scanner is linked to Industrial Security, from the Sensor drop-down box, select the Nessus scanner you want to use.

Tip: Optionally, you can select the assets for which you want to run a job on the Assets page.

    • If you want to run a job for an OT device, or another device on which you do not want to run a Nessus scan, from the Sensor drop-down box, select Device Inquiry.

Note: If you know the IP address of an OT device, you can run a backplane scan to get information about the device without waiting for NNM to discover the asset.

  5. In the Target Type section, select List or Filter.
  6. In the Targets box, type the IP address(es) of the target(s) for which you want to run a job.

Note: If you already selected the assets on the Assets page, Industrial Security auto-populates this box with the assets you selected.

  7. Click Save.

The job appears on the Adaptive Sensing page, but does not immediately launch. Click the Launch button on the Adaptive Sensing page to launch the job.
