Configure a Remediation Scan

You can create a remediation scan to run a follow-up scan against existing scan results. A remediation scan evaluates a specific plugin against a specific scan target or targets where a vulnerability was present in your earlier active scan.

This section describes how to configure a Tenable remediation scan in ServiceNow.

Before you begin:

  • In ServiceNow, you must have an account that has the x_tsirm_tio_vr.admin role to complete the setup.

To configure the Tenable remediation scan:

  1. Log in to ServiceNow.
  2. From a vulnerable item or vulnerability group, click Tenable Scan at the top of the form.

  3. Confirm that you want to run the remediation scan via the current connector.

    Click Yes.

  4. If you have not downloaded credentials, do so before initiating a remediation scan. Do this from the Connector record.

    If you have downloaded credentials, you can select which ones you would like to use.

    Once you have selected all applicable credentials, click the Run Scan button.

  5. Once scheduled, you can return to the Vulnerable Item or Vulnerability Group record to await the results of the remediation scan.
