Tenable Core Offline ISO Updates (Q1 2020)

The following list comprises highlights of updates made to Tenable Core in Q1 2020. Downloading and installing the most recent version of the Offline ISO image initiates these updates on your Tenable Core machine.

New Features and Changed Functionality

  • Loading the Tenable.sc UI page as a non-admin user will now indicate the need for admin access (instead of just displaying loading spinners forever).

  • System boot time application of updates can now be controlled on the Update Management page.
  • Disabled the default 'public' community string for SNMP.
  • Tenable Core Offline Update ISOs can now be attached directly as media for updates.

  • Optimized the migration of Tenable.sc backups from Tenable Appliance to Tenable Core
  • New instances of Tenable Core + Nessus Network Monitor now include the tcpreplay utility by default.

Bug Fixes

  • The application downgrade script used for Tenable Appliance to Tenable Core migration now stages the rpm used for offline downgrades to prevent the final reinstall of the application from failing.
  • Fixed an issue where Tenable Core backups could not sync to a remote storage path containing spaces.

  • Fixed an issue where resizing the Tenable Core virtual hard drive required fixing the secondary GPT from the command-line before space could be allocated.
  • Fixed a problem with uploading custom certificates that contain an intermediate certificate to Tenable applications in the Tenable Core certificates page.

  • Fixed a problem with uploading custom trusted certificate authorities to Tenable Applications in the Tenable Core certificates page.
