Tenable.io Platform Release Notes - October 2022
These release notes are listed in reverse chronological order. To jump to a place in the release notes, use the following list:
Risk Modified Filter
"Risk Modified not equal to Accepted" is now a default filter in the Vulnerabilities tab in Tenable.io and Tenable.io Web Application Scanning. This filter indicates whether you have accepted or recasted (or both) the severity of a vulnerability. For more information on filter usage, see Create Recast/Accept Rules in Findings and Vulnerability Filters in the Tenable.io User Guide.
Applied Filters Limit increased to Nine
To optimize performance, Tenable.io has increased the number of filters that you can apply to any Explore > Findings or Assets views (including Group By tables) to nine. For more information about filter usage, see Filter an Explore Table in the Tenable.io User Guide.
Increased Plugin Output Details
Plugin output details are now available on the findings details preview plane and details page. For more information, see Host Vulnerability Findings Details in the Tenable.io User Guide.
Plugin Output Data Retention Disabled by Default
You must enable the plugin output data retention option to use the Plugin Output filter and run a scan. Data retention does not start until after data retention is enabled. For more information, see Findings Filters in the Tenable.io User Guide.
New Privileges Available in Custom Roles
Administrators can now add privileges to a custom role that allow users to read or manage data in the following areas of Tenable.io:
-
Explore > Assets
-
Explore > Findings
-
Dashboards
-
Accept/Recast
For more information about custom roles in Tenable.io, see Custom Roles in the Tenable.io User Guide.
Access Control Enhancement
When an Administrator creates a new user in Tenable.io, they can limit the user's access to either the Tenable.io interface or API. For more information on creating users in Tenable.io, see Create a User Account in Tenable.io in the Tenable.io User Guide.
Web Application Scanning Docker Image
You can deploy Tenable.io Web Application Scanning as a Docker image to run on a container. The base image is an Oracle Linux 8 instance of WAS. You can set up your WAS instance with environment variables to deploy the Docker image with configuration settings automatically. For more information about WAS Docker Image, see Deploy WAS as a Docker Image in the Tenable.io User Guide.
Sensor Proxy 1.0.6 Update
We resolved an issue that prevented sensors from connecting to sensors.cloud.tenable.com through Sensor Proxy in certain environments. For more information about Sensor Proxy, see the Sensor Proxy User Guide.
For more information about recent changes to the API, see the Changelog on the Tenable Developer Portal.
