Tenable Core Offline ISO Updates - November 2019 (Q3 2019)

The following list comprises highlights of updates made to Tenable Core during the third quarter of 2019. Downloading and installing the most recent version of the Offline ISO image initiates these updates on your Tenable Core machine.

New Features and Changed Functionality
  • New deployments of Tenable Core ship with tcpdump installed by default.

  • Limited the supported ciphers for the Tenable Core Web-ui by removing weaker ones.

    Note: Removed ciphers can be restored by editing the gnutls priority string in /etc/systemd/system/cockpit.service.d/ssl.conf.

  • Offline deployments of Tenable Security Center now can generate challenge codes for Nessus plugin feed activation.

  • New Tenable Core instances use GPT partitioning which allows disk partitions larger than 2TB to be created.

  • Tenable Core ISOs have been enhanced to allow installation on UEFI systems.

  • The Backup/Restore page can now accept Tenable Appliance single-application backup archives (to simplify migration).

  • Start Tenable Nessus Network Monitor after upgrades.

  • Tenable Core backup creation is significantly faster.
  • Restoration of Tenable Appliance backups to Tenable Core is also available from the command line.

  • Updated Cockpit to version 195.3.

Featured Bug Fixes
  • Fixed an issue where the wizard user could not log into the Tenable Core web interface.

  • Completed backups will now be removed from the local system once they have successfully been synced to the remote system.

  • Temporary backup files are now correctly cleaned up after the backup has been completed.
