Configure Email and Text Notifications for a Scan

Required Tenable Vulnerability Management User Role: Scan Operator, Standard, Scan Manager, or Administrator

You can configure a scan to automatically send an email or text notification to specified recipients when the scan completes. This helps you and your stakeholders stay informed about scan results without needing to manually check the scan status in Tenable Vulnerability Management.

To configure email notifications for a scan:

  1. In the left navigation, click Scans.

    The Scans page appears.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • To create a new scan, click Create Scan in the upper-right corner.

    • To edit an existing scan, in the scans table, hover over the scan you want to edit. Click the More button, then click Edit.

      The scan settings menu appears.

  3. On the Basic tab, configure the following Notifications settings:

    Email Recipient(s)

    None The email addresses to which Tenable Vulnerability Management sends a notification when the scan completes. Separate multiple addresses with a comma.
    SMS Recipients None The phone numbers to which Tenable Vulnerability Management sends an SMS notification when the scan completes. Separate multiple numbers with a comma.

    Result Filters

    None Defines which scan results trigger a notification.
  5. Click Save.

    Tenable Vulnerability Management sends an email or SMS notification to the specified recipients after the scan completes.
