System Requirements

To install and run Tenable Core + Tenable Web App Scanning, your system must meet the following hardware requirements established for Tenable Web App Scanning. For more information about Tenable Vulnerability Management requirements, see Tenable Vulnerability Management in the General Requirements User Guide.

Note: Tenable Support does not assist with issues related to your host operating system, even if you encounter them during installation or deployment.

Note: While you could use the packages to run Tenable Core in other environments, Tenable does not provide documentation for those procedures.

Tenable Web App Scanning Hardware Requirements

Note: Tenable does not recommend deploying multiple applications on a single instance of Tenable Core. If you want to deploy several applications on Tenable Core, deploy a unique instance for each application.

Note: The WAS scanner uses a "copy-truncate" method for log rotation. If a scan produces a large log (e.g., 8 GB+), the system needs an equivalent amount of free space to copy that file during the rotation process. On the default 10GB-20GB partitions, this leads to a "deadlock" where the disk hits 100%, rotation fails, and the service becomes unstable.

Scenario Hardware Recommendations
Tenable Web App Scanning up to a maximum of four concurrent web application scans.

CPU: (4) 2 GHz cores

Core Ram: 16 GB RAM

Hard Drive: 100 GB

/var/log on WAS-specific instances: 50 GB - 100 GB

Tenable Web App Scanning Docker Image up to a maximum of four concurrent web application scans.

CPU: Tenable Web App Scanning docker image only supported on AMD 64-bit systems and does not support ARM or Windows systems.
