Valid Custom Widget Combinations

When creating a custom widget in the Analytics > Dashboards section, Tenable Exposure Management performs a data validation check to ensure all optional chart data combinations work together. When you choose a field, the remaining drop-down options are automatically filtered to show only fields that can be combined with your selection.
Each field you can choose from is one of two types:
- Attributes – descriptive details you can group or filter by, such as an asset’s name, a finding’s severity, or a date.
- Metrics – the numeric values being measured, such as a count of assets, detections, or findings.
Attributes and metrics are organized into categories. For example, all asset-related attributes belong to the Asset Attributes category, and all asset-related metrics belong to the Asset Metrics category. A field from one category can only be combined with fields from certain other categories, as shown in the tables below.
