Troubleshoot Storage Capacity Warning

When Tenable Tenable One OT Exposure displays the following warning, the /opt partition has reached 85% of its capacity:

Your system has reached 85% storage capacity and is running low on space.

Complete the following steps to identify what is using the storage space and free up disk capacity.

Before you Begin

  • Confirm you have root or sudo access to the system.

  • Confirm that the system is running normally and you do not need to revert to a previous version.

Diagnose the Issue

  1. Run the following command to inspect allocated and used disk space:

    Copy
    df -h
  1. Run the following command to determine which directories use space under /opt:

    Copy
    sudo du -shc /opt/*

Free Up Space

  1. Delete extracted installation files:

    Copy
    sudo rm -rf /opt/genesis/extracted
  2. Remove previous installation backups in /opt/genesis/installations.

    • To remove all backups, delete all files and directories in the directory.

    • To keep the most recent backup, delete every directory except the one for your current version (for example, Cobex_4_7_56).

    • Run the following command to inspect the /opt/indegy directory:

      Copy
      sudo du -shc /opt/indegy/*
Note: If a directory is unexpectedly large, contact Tenable Support.

Next Steps

If storage space remains insufficient, on a virtual machine with default specifications, allocate more space to the /opt partition. For instructions for extending the /opt partition, see the Add or Expand Disk Space in the Tenable Core User Guide or contact Tenable Support.
