Add or Remove Tags via Asset Filters

Required User Role: Basic, Scan Operator, Standard, Scan Manager, or Administrator

Required Permission: Can Edit, Can Use for applicable asset tags

On the Assets page, you can use asset filters to add or remove tags from assets.

To add or remove tags via asset filters:

  1. In the left navigation, click Explore > Assets.

    The Assets page appears.

  2. Filter the table, selecting and deselecting filters based on the assets where you want to add or remove tags.

    The filters you applied appear in the header above the filter plane.

  3. Do one of the following:

    • To add tags to the asset(s), click Add Tags.

      The Add Tags window appears.

      1. In the Select or create Category drop-down box, type a category name.

        As you type, the list filters for matches.

      2. Select the category for the tag you want to add.
      3. In the Select or create Value drop-down box, type a value name.

        As you type, the list filters for matches.

      4. In the drop-down box, select the value for the tag you want to add.

      5. Under Recently Used Tags, click the name of the category:value pair you want to add.

        Tip: If you change your mind, in the Tags to be Added box, click the next to any tags you no longer want to add.
      6. Click Add Tags.

    • To remove tags from the asset(s), click Remove Tags.

      The Remove Tags window appears.

      1. In the Select Category drop-down box, type a category name.

        As you type, the list filters for matches.

      2. Select the category for the tag you want to remove.
      3. In the Select Value drop-down box, type a value name.

        As you type, the list filters for matches.

      4. In the drop-down box, select the value for the tag you want to remove.

      5. (Optional) Select any of the Current Tags to automatically add them to the Tags to be Removed list.

        Tip: If you change your mind, in the Tags to be Added box, click the next to any tags you no longer want to add.
      6. Click Remove Tags.

    Tenable Vulnerability Management adds or removes the selected tags from the selected asset(s).
