Generate Host Audit Reports

Required User Role: Scan Operator, Standard User, Scan Manager, or Administrator

Apply filters on the Host Audits page to define a specific subset of host audit findings for your report. You can generate these reports on demand or schedule them for recurring delivery.

To generate a report:

  1. In the left navigation, click Explore > Host Audits.

    The Host Audits page appears.

  2. (Optional) Using filters, refine the list of host audit findings.

  3. Select the findings to report on.

    Above the list of findings, the action bar appears.

  4. In the action bar, click Generate Report.

    In the Generate Report window, set the following options.

    File Name

    (Optional) Type a name for the report. A default name is auto-populated.
    Template

    Select a report template. Choose a template based on your audience and reporting goal:

    • Host Audits Executive Summary (Explore) — Provides a snapshot of compliance audit scanning, including a compliance summary by category, a compliance summary by plugin sorted by count, and a compliance summary by asset. Use this report to understand the scope of your compliance scanning.

    • Host Audit Details by Audit Check (Explore) — Displays failed audit checks with a bar chart of top failures sorted by count, followed by detailed findings per check. Use this report to identify the most prevalent failed checks and prioritize remediation. Supports up to 10,000 findings.

    • Host Audit Summary by Benchmark (Explore) — Provides a compliance summary per benchmark, including total assets, audit check counts, and percentage passed, followed by a per-asset compliance status list. Limited to 1,000 assets and 10,000 audit check findings.

    • Host Audit Details by Asset (Explore) — Displays top failed audit checks grouped by audit file, followed by a detailed list of failed checks per asset. Supports up to 2,000 findings.

    Schedule

    Turn on the Schedule toggle to schedule the report:

    1. In the Start Date section, select the date when the report runs.
    2. In the Start Time drop-down, select the time when the report runs.
    3. In the Time Zone drop-down, select a time zone.
    4. In the Frequency drop-down, select the cadence on which you want the report to repeat (for example, daily).
    5. In the Repeat Every drop-down, select the number of days you want the report to repeat (for example, 1 Day).
    6. In the Repeat Ends drop-down, select On or Never. If you select On, choose the End Date when the report stops running.
  5. Click Generate Report.

    The report appears in Reports > Report Results and a new template is saved for reuse.
